During routine campus planting activities, students Chen Yanlin and Yan Zheng'an discovered that plastic flower pots, despite their convenience, had become "enemies" of greenery: they damaged roots during transplanting and were difficult to degrade after disposal. This pain point led them to ponder—could they create a "home" for plants using the most unremarkable waste materials around them, one that could return to the soil along with the plant?
