<p class="ql-block"> At dusk yesterday, as the setting sun dipped below the mountain ridge, DouDou claimed my wheelchair as his bed. His snoring was thunderous, shaking the chair as if it might collapse. In a flash, he woke with a start; his ears pricked up like unsheathed blades, and his claws scraped against the footrest with a screeching sound. The fur on his head exploded into a dandelion puff. Before I could react, he had turned into a black-and-white blur, darting to the door with a sharp bark that pierced through the house like a shard of glass.</p><p class="ql-block"> Granny came in carrying a parcel. Upon unwrapping it, we found a gilded envelope sealed with a decorative sticker reading "Dear Sister Zhang Yuxia." DouDou pretended to go back to sleep, but I was hopping with joy in my chair. Inside the envelope were two cards and a small slip. One card depicted a magnificent ancient pavilion with upturned eaves and intricate railings, looking like a relic from the Han palaces. The other showed a majestic dragon boat, its scales gleaming with golden light, seemingly ready to cleave through the waves.</p><p class="ql-block"> The small slip contained vouchers for Star Ice Mooncakes. DouDou sniffed the air, his whiskers twitching, drool nearly dripping onto the paper, while I swallowed hard, my Adam's apple bobbing. Granny teased me with a warning: "Thinking about losing weight? Don't you dare eat too much!" I chuckled awkwardly, though my heart was set on those treats. Fiddling with the cards, the pavilion unfolded into a three-dimensional structure with vivid windows and doors, and the dragon boat seemed to surge forward with the slightest touch.</p><p class="ql-block"> Late into the night, I sat alone admiring the cards. Though the pavilion stood silent, it seemed as if a fairy might lean out from the balcony; though the boat was still, I could almost hear the drums of a thousand races. Granny’s warning echoed in my ears, but watching DouDou sleep so soundly and thinking of the icy delicacies waiting in the fridge, I thought to myself: even if I gain a few pounds for such earthly joys, it would surely be worth it.</p><p class="ql-block"> Ah, on this joyous occasion of the Dragon Boat Festival, my dear sister Zhang Yuxia is grateful to have you! I love you!!</p><p class="ql-block"> 昨夕薄暮，夕照銜山。豆踞予藤輪為榻，鼻息如雷，幾撼輪欲覆。忽焉驚寤，雙耳峭立如出鞘之刃，爪擊踏板，聲若裂帛。頂毛炸作蒲團(tuán)，未及回神，已化玄影竄于戶側(cè)，吠聲清越，穿云裂石。</p><p class="ql-block"> 老嫗持緘至，解之得金函，內(nèi)一貼紙，乃是親愛的張玉霞姐姐“御用”。豆佯寐不顧，予則雀躍不能自已。啟函視之，內(nèi)有二卡一券。一繪飛閣流丹，鉤心斗角，儼然漢宮遺制；一繪龍舟競(jìng)渡，鱗甲生輝，勢(shì)若破浪。</p><p class="ql-block"> 小封藏星冰粽之券。豆聳鼻覬覦，涎垂及地；予亦喉結(jié)暗動(dòng)，吞咽有聲。老嫗笑誡曰：“欲減腰圍，毋貪口腹！”予唯訕笑，心實(shí)癢癢。試展古樓之卡，層臺(tái)累榭，軒窗儼然；龍舟之卡，隨勢(shì)起伏，若有鼓聲隱隱。</p><p class="ql-block"> 漏斷更深，獨(dú)對(duì)二卡。樓雖靜，似有仙人倚欄；舟雖止，如聞千帆競(jìng)發(fā)。嫗言猶在耳，然視豆酣睡之態(tài)，復(fù)念冰粽之味，竊謂此間樂，增重?cái)?shù)斤亦何妨？</p><p class="ql-block"> 啊，值此端午佳節(jié)遇樂事，親愛的張玉霞姐姐感恩有您！我愛您?。?lt;/p>
